A home should feel like one idea.

DM Roze is a residential design-build practice led by Daniel Rozentsvayg. Each project begins by considering the relationships among spaces, the home and its site, light and views, and structure and materials.

A modern point of view, without a formula.

Daniel’s work has long been influenced by mid-century architecture — particularly its open spaces, natural materials, expressive structure, expansive openings, and strong connection between indoors and outdoors.

Rather than reproduce a mid-century house, DM Roze reinterprets those ideas for each home, site, and client while responding to the practical realities of building in the Northeast.

What makes a DM Roze home

There is no rigid formula. Every house, site, and client is different.

But certain ideas recur throughout the work.

Balanced proportions

Spaces that feel right individually and in relation to one another.

Relationship to the site

Views, orientation, landscape, and site conditions help shape the architecture.

Natural light

Windows and openings are used deliberately, not simply added.

Indoor–outdoor connection

Exterior spaces feel connected to the way the house is lived in.

Structure + natural materials

Beams, wood, and structural elements can become part of the architecture rather than something to hide.

Continuity

Materials, ceiling forms, windows, structure, and details reinforce one overall idea.

Design decisions should belong together.

A window, beam, deck, material, or ceiling treatment matters most when it contributes to the larger architectural idea. We look for balance and continuity rather than isolated design moments. Nothing should feel arbitrary.
